Doing London on the cheap

Maybe you’re coming to London for the Games, or maybe you want to imagine that you are. In either scenario you might have looked ahead to planning your travels around the UK and found that the dollar is relatively (quite) weak compared to the British pound. This may have led you to surmise that London is not a cheap place to visit.

There is merit to thought, but what you might not know is that there are lots of things to do on the cheap in the Olympic host city.

As pointed out by Visit Britain, the UK’s official tourism website, there are lots of affordable sights and experiences that visitors can take advantage of – and even some free ones too. The key is knowing where to go and how to get there (hint: public transportation). Bottom line takeaway: Contrary to what you might have heard, London can be experienced and enjoyed on a shoestring.
